Bulletin for September 26, 2010

PRAY for REVIVAL!

If you were to stand before God this day and
He was to ask you, Why should I let you into my Kingdom?
What would your response be?

We would like to welcome Craig Howard as our evangelist for this week’s revival. Revival will begin this morning and continue from this evening through Thursday, September 30th at 7pm.

New officers of the church were elected at General Council and they will begin their term the first Sunday of October.  The list of officers is posted in the vestibule (there are also copies if you would like to have one).  Keep them in your prayers continually as they do the work of the church and offer a helping hand to them.

Looking ahead:  The Ladies Aide will be hosting “Children’s Day” on October 10th during the Sunday School hour.  Oak Grove is very blessed with our young people – remember that they are the future church!

There will be a short meeting before Sunday School classes for those interested in the trip to Charlotte, NC for Operation Christmas Child.  Remember that October will be “Shoebox Month” so start filling your boxes and put a smile on a child’s face.  THANKS to an anonymous donor, there are plastic shoe boxes in the vestibule you may pick up to fill!

The Ladies Aide will be making Health Kits for Church World Service.  They will provide plastic bags with instructions in if you would like to help with this mission.  The kits need to be turned in by October 10th.  Any assistance would be appreciated as there is much need for these items. “In the face of natural disasters, violence, or grinding poverty, Hygiene Kits can mean the difference between sickness and health for struggling families.”

The West Marva District Missions Committee will be bringing Jeff Bozart, Field Representative from the Church of the Brethren Disaster Ministries, to the Oak Park Church on October 10th at 3:00 p.m.  Jeff will be sharing with everyone what has been happening in Haiti over the last 2 years with the Brethren Disaster Ministries.

There will be a Consignment Auction on October 9th at 10am at the Brake Brethren Pavilion.  Proceeds are to raise funds for the Brake Youth Mission trip to Guatemala in 2011.  There is a flyer in the vestibule with further information.
