Bulletin for January 30, 2011

You are invited:  In honor of Louellyn Rodeheaver’s 90th Birthday there will be an Open House held here at the church on Sunday, February 6th, from 2-4pm.

Envelope
Gerald Rodeheaver would like to thank everyone who attended his birthday party and for all of the well wishes and cards.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS NEWS:  In 2010 a total of 5.5 million shoeboxes were collected in the United States and 8.2 million world-wide.   That is 8.2 million opportunities for children around the world to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ!  Your prayers are still needed as shoeboxes continue their journey around the world to a needy boy or girl.   It is a blessing that Oak Grove is such a part of this great project.  Continue to make your shoeboxes by starting early this year.   Make a goal in 2011 to make 11 shoeboxes if possible.  Let's make this the best year ever at Oak Grove!   (Austin, maybe we will meet your goal of 300!)

On April 3rd at 6pm, Jeffrey Rush will be providing a presentation from his mission trip to Bolivia.  There will be a homemade ice cream social following.

I expect to pass through life but once.  If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again.  ~William Penn

God has not called us to see through each other, but to see each other through.  ~Author Unknown

Past the seeker as he prayed came the crippled and the beggar and the beaten.  And seeing them... he cried, "Great God, how is it that a loving creator can see such things and yet do nothing about them?"  God said, "I did do something.  I made you."  ~
