A Mother's Love
There are times when only a mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappointments
And calm all of our fears.
There are times when only a mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we've dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.
There are times when only a mother's faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.
For a mother's heart and a mother's faith
And a mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the angels
And sent from God above.
WHEN SHE THOUGHT I WASN’T LOOKING…
All the things she taught me, just by being an excellent example.
When she thought I wasn't looking, I saw her hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I wanted to paint another one.
When she thought I wasn't looking, I saw her feed a stray cat,
and I thought it was good to be kind to animals.
When she thought I wasn't looking, I saw her make my favorite cake for me, and I knew that little things are special things.
When she thought I wasn't looking, I heard her say a prayer,
and I believed there is a God I could always talk to.
When she thought I wasn't looking, I felt her kiss me goodnight,
and I felt loved.
When she thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears come from her eyes, and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's all right to cry.
When she thought I wasn't looking, I saw that she cared and I wanted to be everything that I could be.
When she thought I wasn't looking, I looked...
and wanted to say thanks for all the things
I saw when she thought I wasn't looking.
