Happy Thanksgiving

Dottie and Fayann express much appreciation for the support of the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry.  They delivered 377 shoeboxes on Monday.  Thank you for blessing so many children!
Today is Fruit Sunday.  Thank you for providing fruit that will be distributed and pray God’s blessings on the recipient as well as those who gave.

There will be a Thanksgiving Service on Wednesday evening, at 7pm.  Refreshments will follow the service (please bring cookies, snacks, etc).

The Christmas Laity Program has been set for December 18th during church service.  There will be no Sunday School on Christmas morning; but there will be church service.

There will be a church Christmas Decorating Party on Sat, Dec. 3rd at 6:00 pm. Everyone’s invited to help the Youth decorate; please bring a snack and your favorite Christmas CD for a fun evening!

Oak Hill 4H Club will be sponsoring a Buckwheat cake/sausage dinner today from 11:00-2:00 at the Accident Fire Hall.

Description: http://fla.fg-a.com/ctree_3a.gifThe Oakland Rotary Club is asking for   Oak Grove’s assistance in making the Christmas Project a success once again.  The goal of the Christmas Project is for every needy child in Garrett County to receive at least two Christmas gifts.  For some, this will be the only gifts they receive.  Landon’s Library and the Dolly Parton Foundation combine to furnish two books for each child.  The Garrett County Realtor Association supplies gloves and hats.  Each senior citizen in need receives a $50.00 food gift certificate.
Please select a tag or tags from the Christmas tree.  Please return the purchased item to the church by December 7th or sooner. (Do not wrap present; however please tape the tag to the item).  If you prefer, choose a tag from the tree and donate the money and Shelby will make the purchase for you.  Donations will also be accepted.  The Christmas gifts will be sorted and prepared for delivery on Dec. 8th 7 9th at St. Peter’s Church in Oakland.  On Saturday morning, Dec. 10th, the gift bags will be delivered.  Any person interested in delivering the Christmas bags, please contact Jim or Shelby.  Also, any student in need of community service hours, this project qualifies.  With the economic conditions and the increase of families in need, the number of tags assigned to Oak Grove has increased this year.  Please help the less fortunate children in Garrett County.
If you have any questions, please contact Jim or Shelby Carmack at 301-387-5862.
