Bulletin for November 15, 2009
Bible Study on Ephesians continues on Wed. @7pm. This will be the final Bible Study until after the first of the year.
There will be a Jr. Youth meeting Wednesday evening at 7pm. They will be working on Christmas ornaments for the residents of Cherry Hill.
Blanket Sunday will be held on Nov. 29th and Dec. 6th.
Next Sunday, Nov. 22nd will be “Food Sunday” instead of “Fruit Sunday” this year. The youth has decided to collect canned food for local families in need. Please bring what you are able to donate next Sunday or you may bring it during the week and leave it in the vestibule. They will be working with Garrett Co. Community Action to deliver the items. Thank you for supporting the youth in their missions.
Deep Creek Volunteer Fire Department will be holding a Buckwheat/Pancake Supper on Friday, November 20th from 5-8pm.
Just a reminder, if you don’t have dinner ready for today: The Oak Hill 4-H Club will be having a Buckwheat/Pancake Dinner at the Accident Fire hall today until 2:00.
Operation Christmas Child News:
*Remember to pray for the children who receive these boxes that their lives are touched by God’s love.
*There will be a “Packing Party” here tomorrow @10am to get the boxes ready to go on to the next step. Lunch will be provided.
*Dottie and Fayann wish to thank the church for their support and prayers for this another rewarding year for Operation Christmas Child.
Rotary Christmas Tree Project:
Last year Oak Grove Church responded 100% to the appeal for The 2008 Rotary Christmas project. We have been asked to support the project again this year. In the vestibule are tags for children, 15 years of age and younger, whose families are in need of help at Christmas time. Please take a tag/s and follow the directions. If you wish to make a monetary donation please make the check payable to the Oakland Rotary Club.
On December 8th the gifts, unwrapped with tags attached, will be transported from the church to the distribution center. There, they will be sorted, two $25.00 grocery gift certificates enclosed and packaged for delivery by Rotarians and helpers on December 12th. Senior citizens in need also receive grocery gift certificates.
The Carmack’s legs are mature legs. If any young person with good legs is willing to help deliver Christmas packages, Saturday morning, December 12th please let Jim or Shelby know. It would be appreciated. Any questions or volunteers contact us at 301-387-5862 or see us in church.
THANK YOU from Jim & Shelby Carmack
