Bulletin for November 29, 2009

Blanket Sunday will be today and next Sunday.

Rotary Christmas Tree Project: Just a reminder to have your gifts here at the church next Sunday.

Sr. Youth News: * Don’t forget our Christmas Party/ Church Decorating is this evening at 5:00. Refreshments will be provided. If you would like to take part in our gift exchange, please bring a wrapped gift suitable for a boy or girl ($15 value). Look forward to seeing you here!
*A special “Thank You” to everyone who donated grocery items last Sunday. The associates at Community Action express their heartfelt gratitude. They told us it was well-timed and much-needed. I am certain God will bless Oak Grove for our efforts.
*There is a sign-up sheet on the back table for anyone interested in attending National Youth Conference next July 17-21st in Colorado. Age requirements are as follows- must have completed 9th grade at time of conference up through 1st year of college. We need to get a count of the number who are seriously interested in order to make monetary preparations.

Thank you to the congregation for responding generously to the Love Offering for Ray and Kathy Meyers after losing everything in a fire.

You are invited to an “Old Fashioned Christmas” Program at the Sang Run Open Door Chapel next Sunday, Dec. 6th, @2pm. Fellowship and singing are planned to celebrate the completion of renovation on the church building.

Mark your calendar now:  the Christmas Program will be held on Dec. 20th at 7pm.

New addresses to include with your Christmas cards:
Scott Savage:                        PFC Ward Savage
P.O. Box 3698
Fort Polk, LA 71459

Erich Rodeheaver:                Sgt. Erich S. Rodeheaver
363 MP Co.
Al Saniyah/FOB
Summerall APO/AE 09393

Also for your Christmas card mailing list:  Pass this on to your co-workers, family, and friends.  What do you have to lose but 44¢, what do you have to gain, more than you will ever know.  What a clever idea! Yes, Christmas cards. This is coming early so that you can get ready to include an important address to your list.  Send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD this year. As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice, CHRISTIAN card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world… Make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it
ACLU
125  Broad Street
18th Floor
New York , NY  10004
Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions.  So spend 44¢ and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone. Also tell them that there is no such thing as a "Holiday  Tree". . . it’s always been a CHRISTMAS TREE!
